Booking categories

Booking categories are used as templates to define settings in booking objects. You can create as many booking categories as you need.

Features:

  • Specify here booking rule, taxes, additional services, questions & answers, other taxonomies, step by step description and Google map integration
  • In order to add meeting place functionality to booking objects you need to activate "Add address field?" option

Navigate to Ba Book Everything → Booking Rules admin menu

Add/edit a booking category​

  • Name - category name
  • Slug - taxonomy term slug for the category
  • Description - category description (optional)

  • Available days - select the weekdays when booking objects are available for reservation (e.g., only Mon–Fri)
  • Excluded dates - specify date ranges when booking is not available (e.g., holidays, maintenance)

  • Booking rule - set the booking rule (e.g., Tour, Yacht, Hotel)

  • Add checkout fields for all guests - if enabled, customer must enter details for all guests individually

  • Make extra checkout fields mandatory - if enabled, extended guest data fields are required to complete the order

  • Remove guests from booking form - removes the "guests" section from the booking form

  • Add taxes? - enable or disable tax calculation in bookings
  • Taxes, % - set the tax percentage to be added to the booking price
  • Taxes title - the tax label displayed in the order (e.g., VAT)

  • Add services? - enable or disable the services section for the booking item
  • Services title - title for the services section (e.g., Additional Services)
  • Add FAQ? - enable or disable the FAQ section in booking items
  • FAQ title - title for the FAQ section (e.g., Frequently Asked Question)

  • Include taxonomies - allows linking custom taxonomies to the booking object
  • Add step by step description? - enables step-by-step description section (e.g., stages of a tour)
  • Step title - title for a step in the step-by-step description (e.g., Day)

  • Add address field? - adds an address field to the booking object page
  • Add Google map to booking objects? - enables Google Maps display for the booking object
  • Featured Image - main image of the booking category (should be supported in current theme)
  • Slideshow Images - gallery of category images (should be supported in current theme)
