Age categories

Age categories is an optional feature that enables guest breakdown by age groups (e.g., Adults, Children, Infants) across the search form, booking form, pricing, and orders.

Features:

  • When disabled, the system uses a single "Guests" counter and generic labels ("person/people").
  • When enabled, each age group gets its own counter and can affect pricing, capacity, and validation.
Note

Whether age groups of customers will be used is determined in the booking rule settings.

Navigate to Ba Book Everything → Ages admin menu in order to set age groups. All age groups are terms in the Ages taxonomy.

  • Name - age group name (how it appears on the site, e.g. Children, Adults)
  • Slug - taxonomy term slug for the age group

  • Description - text description of the age group (displayed depends on the booking objects rules)
  • Order (1, 2, etc.) – required
    • Sorting order of the age group. The group with the smallest number will be the main age (usually – adult), others are sorted in ascending order (ASC).
